Nashville Chamber of Commerce

The rib­bon fell last Decem­ber dur­ing the open­ing of the new Nashville Cham­ber of Com­merce lobby built in con­junc­tion with Advent: Dis­plays and Events. The Nashville Cham­ber of Com­merce lobby makeover is one of many recently done in the Nashville busi­ness com­mu­nity to change the image pre­sented to clien­tele enter­ing their facil­i­ties.


The Nashville Cham­ber chal­lenged Advent to bring their key mes­sag­ing points to a cen­tral­ized loca­tion in their facil­ity. By pro­vid­ing a quick turn-around on an afford­able bud­get, Advent used cus­tomized visu­als to com­mu­ni­cate the Chamber’s mes­sage to the peo­ple they inter­act with daily.


Brian Court­ney, Vice-President of Com­mu­ni­ca­tion of the Nashville Cham­ber stated, “We see a lot of traf­fic through our doors every day–members, future mem­bers, polit­i­cal and com­mu­nity lead­ers, busi­ness recruit­ment prospects, relo­cat­ing fam­i­lies, tourists–and first impres­sions are so crit­i­cal. We really needed to take a step back to eval­u­ate what type of first impres­sion we were mak­ing when peo­ple came through our lobby.”


The Cham­ber is only one of many com­pa­nies faced with this chal­lenge. Advent has also worked on envi­ron­ments for Lip­scomb Uni­ver­sity, Ham­mock Pub­lish­ing and Healthways.


While build­ing the new Ezell Bible Build­ing at Lip­scomb Uni­ver­sity, an oppor­tu­nity arose for a “mis­sions” room where stu­dents and vis­i­tors could learn about the val­ues of the uni­ver­sity. After a com­plete envi­ron­ment makeover, the room reflects the com­pas­sion the uni­ver­sity pro­vides for the local and inter­na­tional communities.


Mark Jent, Coor­di­na­tor of Mis­sions Devel­op­ment at Lip­scomb, remarked, “As we began to dream about our new Mis­sions Cen­ter and the poten­tial eter­nal impact it would have on our stu­dents, we never envi­sioned some­thing as nice and pro­fes­sional as we have now. Our Mis­sions Cen­ter is the cen­tral gath­er­ing place for teams of stu­dents as they pre­pare to go out and serve in the com­mu­nity, across the coun­try and around the world.”


Advent first began trans­form­ing lob­bies into a cen­tral mes­sag­ing area about three years ago when they part­nered with Health­ways to tell a story in their Nashville office. Health­ways can now guide their guests through the office in a nar­ra­tive, rather than a tour. Advent con­tin­ues to part­ner with com­pa­nies around Nashville and the coun­try to make face-to-face envi­ron­ments an oppor­tu­nity for impact messaging.
