Trade Show Clutter

I recently took my father to an exhibit at the Tennessee State Musuem.  As we were walking through the museum we passed hundreds, maybe thousands of exhibits.   The funny thing is that I can’t tell you one thing about any of those exhibits.  We were only there for one thing and one thing only.  I personally didn’t want to stop and look at any of the other exhibits.   To me it was all “clutter.”  No offense to the museum. :)

This same thing happens on the trade show floor all the time.  Your booth can  become “clutter” to show attendees, UNLESS you take the proper steps to stand out in the crowd.

My colleague Todd Austin just blogged about pre-show marketing.  This is a great way to let attendees know you will be exhibiting.  You can make attendees aware of your brand 2 or 3 weeks before the show by renting the attendee list from the show organization.

Your booth itself needs to be “different!”  It can be as easy as some new, vivid graphics to a totally custom booth that portrays your brand and image.

When attendees leave you want them buzzing about your booth! You don’t want to be a piece of trade show clutter!
