Lighting of the Green

Light­ing of the Green

Lip­scomb Uni­ver­sity’s Light­ing of the Green is an annual cam­pus event to kick-off the hol­i­day season. Hundreds of fam­i­lies came to enjoy the event held in the Allen Bell Tower Mall. Lit with col­or­ful Christ­mas images, it was a beau­ti­ful back­drop as the groups per­formed. Amy Grant, Buddy Greene, and Pat Flynn per­formed along with sev­eral Lip­scomb stu­dents, and Lelan Statom from WTVF served as mas­ter of cer­e­monies.  To com­ple­ment the “Christ­mas Jam”, the event also included a col­lec­tion of peanut but­ter for the Sec­ond Har­vest Food Bank. The evening ended with every­one singing Silent Night. Advent, involved since its incep­tion 3 years ago, pro­vides art direc­tion, set design and var­i­ous other cre­ative con­cepts for the event.
