Project Engineer

Advent's Project Engineers are tasked with estimating and managing projects at all levels while interacting with team members, clients and vendors. This position requires flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to adapt on the fly. Simply put, the success of our jobs starts with the estimating process and continues with the management of the fabrication process. This will require but is not limited to the following:

  • Coordination of Advent’s scope with client and internal team
  • Oversee all aspects of budget and project financials
  • Develop and manage fabrication and installation schedules factoring in lead times
  • Know and understand contract documents with both clients and vendors on the given project(s)
  • Reviewing integration documents to insure documentation is accurate
  • Collaborating with and managing work flow internally with other “departments”
  • Scheduling internal and external project team meetings
  • Manage any change order requests/submissions
  • Ability to lead team to complete given project(s)
  • Expense tracking and reporting
  • Strategically consult and add value with internal team, vendors, and clients
  • On-site installation supervision/management in conjuction with Field Supervisor
  • Day-to-day communication with clients and vendors regarding on-going projects
  • Resolve issues with internal team and client as needed
  • Lead discussions with key stakeholders on budget, timeline, materials, and installation
  • Explore drawings and determine best fabrication method(s)
  • Gathering pricing from various vendors and preparing quotes for potential small projects
  • New vendor research (capabilities, pricing, etc.)
  • Determine bes in class vendors and recommend them based on scope of project(s)
  • Collaborate on project schedules based on knowledge of lead times
  • Create material summaries and takeoffs
  • Maintain historical costs records for future reference
  • Support lead estimator with on-going initiatives and special projects
  • High level note taking in meetings with extreme attention to detail
  • Keep multiple projects on track at the same time
  • Help orient interns and new hires to estimating process
  • Traveling required on an as needed basis


  • Ability to solve problems on the fly
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar/equivalent
  • 5-7 years of professional work experience
  • Basic computer knowledge (Mac experience preferred but not required)
  • General understanding of marketing, communications, sports business, and customer service
  • Advanced understanding of construction, fabrication, and estimation
  • Hands on building and/or fabrication experience
  • Flexible schedule
  • Highly organized and acute attention to detail
  • A self-starter with the ability to learn quickly
  • A positive attitude and an inquisitive personality
  • Proactive not reactive
  • Experience with 3D CAD Software (Solidworks, Sketchup, Inverntor, etc.), Adobe Suite, Goole Suite, and Procore preferred (not required)
