Pepperdine University sits nestled in the hills of Malibu, California just north of Los Angeles. In 2011, University President Andrew Benton announced a renewed commitment to athletics based on Pepperdine's history of athletic success. With that declaration, Pepperdine decided on a face-lift for both the athletic offices in Heritage Hall and the lobby and gymnasium in Firestone Fieldhouse.
Working directly with the university, Advent developed design concepts that preserve the simple, traditional style of Malibu while also bringing the program stories into designs rivaling those of other NCAA programs. Building codes and restrictions in Malibu can be tricky, but the design scheme and plans were carefully customized to meet Pepperdine's needs while also meeting legal requirements for the campus and city. When the project was completed, Pepperdine had a new look to its athletic facilities including a spectacular display for National Championships and Olympic Athletes, and a Hall of Fame room that rivals any view on the West Coast.
